CHATTING, DINING, AND CAROLING--OH MY!

I had been missing the days of my youth when Mr. Simpson organized and led practices for the neighborhood children to go out Christmas caroling each year. I always loved singing (even if I do not have the best voice), and loved the smiles on people’s faces and in their eyes when we would carol for them.
Today the women of Chrysalis Writers of CCC gathered together for a Christmas potluck celebration, filled with laughter and chatting.

We all enjoyed delicious food.
Each attendee brought a dish,
and we had plenty of desserts!
I brought tuna salad sandwiches.
Susan was kind to open her home
to us all.

There are always several groups
chatting away, and a variety of
subjects discussed.  You could
wander around the room and
eavesdrop until you find a subject
you want to join in on!

Lisa organized a time to sing carols. I loved it, and I know she definitely did.
We had musical accompaniment to enhance our voices, thanks to Jenny on violin and Linda on an out-of-tune piano.

Even I had a chance to play a rhythm instrument!
Lisa seemed very happy!

The first song was a funny one and had everyone laughing. I am told that Mariah supplied the song.
It was quite comical!

We all sang some old favorites with such angelic (???!!!) voices.

Jenny also showed us her latest musical instrument, a hammered dulcimer, and it was so lovely to listen to!!  By next year she will be a pro at it!  It was so much fun to get to sing and harken to my youth.
Lisa and I talked about organizing some of us to do some caroling next year!  That would be fun!
Susan and Jenny's cat found a warm spot beneath a lamp and I could not resist snapping this shot!  He was soon moved as the lamp is an antique and there was worry he would knock it off.  But this shot is great!  I so enjoyed the celebration with all of my dear friends of Chrysalis Women Writers of CCC.     We have such a wonderful group of talented, loving, kind, and caring women. And everyone is very supportive!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL, AND MAY THE COMING YEAR BE FILLED WITH NOTHING BUT JOY, GOOD HEALTH AND PUBLICATIONS!!!!

  2. Thanks for taking all these great photos, Rose!

BTW, it was Mariah who thought of bringing the first song. Just so credit goes to the right person!

    Merry Christmas!
