GARDEN DELIGHT

Color

Contrast

Light

Shape

These pictures have it all.  If you look closely at flowers,
you can see wonderful details in hue, shape,
and contrast.
And when you get the sun behind them,
they become irridescent and bright.

I love how this simple white flower pops against the dark green backdrop.
And you can see a little bug on one petal to the upper right.  It is integrated into the perfection, a natural "flaw."
Enjoy the photographs, and I hope it inspires you all to take a stroll, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the delicate beauty of the nature God has provided for our enjoyment.
This last one is one of my favorites.  It reminded me of the fireworks I witnessed on July 4th!  It is an explosion of color, contrast, texture, shape and beauty.

  2. Beautiful stuff, once again. One of the people who reads my blog often posts about photography. Here's a link to a recent post. http://www.stinalindenblatt.com/2010/07/tip-75-lighting-can-make-it-or-break-it.html

  3. I like the leaf image and the blue flower next to it, but you're right about the last flower--perfect for the 4th of July. I know a lot of writers say you're supposed to know the names of things (like the names of all of these flowers), but I like not knowing. I like thinking of that last one as the fireworks flower. Have you entered any of your photos in the county and state fairs? Oregonian contests? You seem like you'd be an automatic winner. Your joy comes through in the images.
