MORE THAN LOVE

Cats have always been special to me.  I have a connection with them and have had many in my life over the years.
My present cat is Kala and she the most loving cat I have ever had.  Sometimes I think it is because she knows I have a great need.  She seems to sense when I am down or worried or stressed.  There are times I have been crying and she will come up to me, look into my eyes, and place her paw up to my face or chest as if to say, "I am here for you."
Then I will cuddle her and let the tears flow as she licks my face and purrs to calm me.
When I am feeling stressed she will climb onto my lap and purr and give me kisses and massages with her feet, constantly looking up to my eyes and purring the whole time.
I have had a lot of stresses and sadness in the last few years and I do not think I would have been able to manage without the love and strength I receive from this ebony bundle.
Some may say I am crazy to feel that my cat is comforting, loving, caring and kind.  But when you have experienced a bond with a pet, you know what I am talking about.  And those of us who have had this in our lives are very blessed.

  1. And she knows how much you love her, as well. You are lucky to have one another.

  2. "ebony bundle" great line...

Maybe it's an old wives' tale, but I've heard that cats sense emotion and illness.

When I was a teen, my cat sat vigilantly next to my dad for a few weeks straight as he recovered from a surgery. She never left his side.

  3. I am so glad you have your kitty for comfort. Cats are sensitive especially when they are closely bonded to you. Our cat Xena has demonstrated this many times. One time in particular was when I was crying over the loss of my sons. My husband was hugging me when I felt kitty paws on my leg. Xena was standing up and hugging me too. God bless you and your "ebony bundle." Alice

  4. Well, regardless of what other people think, I'm sure
our pets help us through the bad times, and I'm so
glad that you have Kala to see you through the
trials and tribulations you've been facing. Your
strength and resilience amazes me. Love and
best wishes to you and to Kala.

  7. Are cats really that loving? I used to want one, until I heard they never bond with you rather just play you around. Reading your words, I think I heard wrong and in that case I'd love to have a kitty like Kala- your ebony bundle. Is that name inspired from the hindi word meaning black?

  8. Yes, Rochana, it is why I picked Kala as her name after research on the web! If you get a cat, you will get loe.
