WHAT KIND OF YEAR...

I received the usual email and vocal wishes of Happy New Year from coworkers, acquaintances, friends and family. But as I sat here new years eve attempting to watch a movie, I kept thinking about what kind of new year I want.  Yes, I would like to have a happy one, but I want more.
I would love to have a peaceful new year, not only for myself but for the whole world.  I know this is unrealistic, but wouldn't it be nice?  Peace throughout the world.  What a wonderful dream to have. But maybe the peace will have to remain in one persons part of their world for now and , who knows, all those people enjoying peace may meet and the peace will grow. Know what I mean?
I would also love to have a stress-free new year, completely harmonious and free from any problems, especially financially.  This, too, is not likely to happen.  Something will happen at work, or computer will give me problems, or a hot water leak will cause damage (this is how my new year started and am now dealing with it), or something will happen to act like a thorn in your butt.  It gives a stab every time you sit, gets a slight infection and eventually has to be handled one way or another--by tackling it or ignoring it.
A new year of delightful experiences, now this would be wonderful.  Seeing new places and new sights, hikes in new places of relaxing scenery to photograph, long or short trips, bonding with new and old friends--times to flee reality and enjoy the moments.  Of course, one stumbling block is money.  Going to many places near or far often costs in some way, even if it is just gas prices.  Longer trips would require the cost of travel, places to stay, etc.  Oh, but wouldn't it be grand to go when and where you wanted without the cost considerations.  To say I think I will go see the fall colors in the New England states, and just pack and go.
I most especially would love to have a healing year.  This for myself and for my dear friends.  The healing would not necessarily be physical but mental and emotional as well.  Healing from the loss of a loved one, healing from a severed relationship, healing from illness, healing from anything which causes you heartache and pain.  This healing is so important in being able to move on through life.
I want a new year for all which is stress-free, peaceful, filled with experiences, healing and yes, happy.

  3. As Doris Say said, Que Sera Sera. I wish you the peace of mind that comes from living in the present and not worrying about the future.

  7. Yeah, we had septic tank issues on Christmas day. Cost a total of four hundred dollars to get us operational again.

  8. Rose, you always sound thoughtful, but I do detect an element of..., is it some type of peace, or at least relaxation? You've had many rough years, after all. It's time for some peace. Yes, I, too, would give anything (just about) to be able to travel anytime & anywhere I wanted, such as to see the eastern fall colors, but money always seems to get in the way. No more trips for us until we pay off our last one (and talk about gas money!). May God grant you and others a peaceful 2013; at least one with more highs than lows.

    Love, your friend Lynnette

  9. Rose, do I hear a bit of peace & rest in your New Year's wishes for you & others? May you be filled with the peace you desire, and certainly deserve. Yes, I'd love to see the fall colors, too. Maybe one day (but I'd also love to just be able to take off any day. Blessings to you, with love from your friend, Lynnette.

I could just feel that thing festering. lol! Have a wonderful weekend. Seeing the Autumn colors is always a fav of mine!

  14. Rose, so much of your wish for peace was mine also...I think we have to just reflect, and also live in those fragments of peace that we are given. Memories to smooth over the rough times.
