A SUNDAY DRIVE

Today after church and lunch out with friends, I decided to go for a little drive in the countryside near my temporary dwelling.  It was such a perfect sunny day and the scents were amazing.
At one area I swear I smelled apple cider!!! Really!
I did manage to snap a few photographs.
Down one road I take there are 2 funny signs.
The "fast deer" sign says at the bottom of it "dedicated to dad & grandpa's gift of humor."
Notice the tally marks on the second sign near it--only 6 deer so far!
I saw one old boarded up house which to me looked perfect for a haunted house!
I saw some cool barns!
I am wondering if the last one is a barn or a house that looks like one...
In one yard I spotted this old machine, which may be an old tractor, but I just do not know.
 It is rather cool though!

This dove on wire drew me to take a quick shot of him at sunset, thus the pink on clouds.
It was such a nice drive!

  1. It WAS a lovely drive Rose I enjoyed every second. Haha love those signs and the barns/barn houses really intrigue me as we don't have that style or size in my part of the world. Perhaps much further south, but I've personally not seen any at all anywhere I've been! More Sunday drives please. I love seeing the wider scenery of your part of the world.
    Happy week dear lady.

  5. Rose, thank you for the lovely drive through the countryside, coming as it does on this wet and rainy morning. My husband recognized several of the barns you photographed. Thanks from both of us. Alice & Bill

  8. That's a great old steam tractor. Can you imagine driving that thing on a hot August afternoon, feeding wood into the firebox, sweating like a pony, the dust turning to mud on your skin, and being so delighted with how fast you are getting the plowing, reaping, haying done? Now the cabin of a tractor is air-conditioned with a CD player and a cup-holder for your iced latte. Life is good!

  9. Gorgeous photos as usual, and although the barns are lovely, I adore the final pic of the bird. It's so bold against such a vibrant sky. I can't wait to hear more about your new house, what colors you choose for painting, and all that you do as you settle into your new life. Congrats!!! --TRISTA

  12. What beautiful places to live those barn houses are! How far are they from a town?

  13. Or the lovely red one could be a barn converted to a house. Many possibilities. I loved driving around with you.
