SLOWLY BUT SURELY

My yards, front and back, are slowly evolving.  When I moved in back in November, the front yard had a few plants and grass (mostly weeds really).  My friend and landscaper/gardener has worked so hard and created beauty!  Now see how it has progressed.

The backyard was a bit of grass, lots of weeds and dirt, and quite hole-y from the previous owners digging dogs. Not kept at all.  My wonderful landscaper and dear friend (thanks so much, Lisa!) has worked hard for several months.  She dug up the entire front, removed weeds and grass, rototilled, and worked her little butt off preparing for plants and pathways. She has worked just as hard in the backyard slowly working on solving the grading problem which led to flooding by the house (and a wood-rotted wall I had to replace!), digging a french drain (looked like a grave!) and filling it with stone. She has planted trees, shrubs, flowers and so much more and still there is room to add plants! She worked out plans that would give me seasonal color!  She is also laying out pathways and putting down the gravel for them!
Here are a few photographs of the backyard slowly progressing and beautifully as well.

Here is my new patio. I wanted it to have a different shape, not square or rectangle.

Soon there wall be paths and plants and the patio furniture!
So this is just a part of the redo of my home.  I can hardly wait for it to be all done, but that takes time.  Good thing I am a patient person!
And a good thing I have such a wonderful gardener.landscaper!

  11. I'll try again, even though I'm being called Oregonfriend, when you are my Oregon friend. Your yards look great! Now they look as good as your beautifully designed house. You have great friends, and that is because you are such a great friend to all. Happy Housewarming and Yard party, especially when your patio is complete. Lynnette

  16. Rose, your yard is beautiful! I especially love the way the plants look against the lovely color of the house. What is the name of the color if you know? Great choice of shape for the patio.
