A LITTLE PEEK INSIDE

I thought I would show you a little bit of my home. In my entryway I decided I wanted a "statement" wall, a spot to express myself!  So this is where I am doing it! This is right by my front door above a coat hanging rack.  Since losing my husband a couple years ago, this one struck me deeply!

The following are the boxes you can get at Michael's to put in counters, shelves and such to hold things.  I made them to hang up on the wall using wire on each one so they could hang on hooks.  I can also use them for storage as well!

The word CREATE is inside a tiny drawer. I painted both pieces and made to be together!
More stuff will eventually be hung up there.
This clock I fell in love with as the color was perfect for my dining room!
In the guest room, this is the first thing you see; my shabby chic shelf with a wood cat box on top (it opens) and displaying some of my antique purses.

A friend had her husband make me this oak cradle when we adopted our son in 1987. I have a reborn doll sleeping in it now. The crocheted blanket was made by another friend.
I made the needlepoint cat. It is actually a door stop with a brick inside.
This is the table I got for the left side of the guest sleigh bed.  It is actually a wood box on a stand which opens up.

On the right side I have a table made from an old singer sewing machine treadle with an old needlepoint covered chair.  I have hung a couple of the Thomas Kinkade artist proof paintings and one sits on the table.

A crewel embroidery cat I made many years ago is hanging in the little hallway to the bedrooms for now but it may end up in the 2nd little bedroom once it is painted.

In my dining room I finally did hang a couple of my photographs I had done on canvas.  One is a tulip and one is an iris.  I still have not decided what to do with the sliding glass door yet, but it still has the blinds that came with the house.  I am considering a curtain rod and draperies/curtains.
It is the smallest sliding glass door I have ever seen!

This is the guest bathroom so far.  I am waiting for the ceiling to be painted white.
The walls are the same turquoise as in dining room and kitchen and entry.

I picked up this old floor lamp at a garage sale for $20.
This is a photograph I took of two koi in a pond. I used my computer photo program to make it look like a water color and had it done on canvas! It currently graces the bedrooms hallway.

I found my cat, Mooshoo, sleeping in the kitchen sink so I snapped a shot of her.
Silly Cat!
So that is a little peek at a bit of my home.
Still a work in progress!

  7. You are so to be admired, Rose! You are clever and artistic in many fields--be proud of yourself. Though I have little time, getting to see your current creativity inspires me to do some of the arty things I think of but don't take the time to do. Thanks for your inspiration! Marie

  16. Hi Rose,
Your home is lovely! What a great idea to hang decorative boxes. Your white sleigh bed is beautiful and I can see a needlepoint Duncan Fife chair that is pretty too! It is fun decorating and and making changes but I do like the turquoise walls. I am afraid to paint mine that colour but it is effective. I'm sorry to hear about your dear hubby. I hope that your adopted son is close to keep you company. Take care. Karen
