FALL SPLENDOR

On Saturday, October 28th, I needed to escape so took off to see natural beauty and relish fall color.
I drove around for a while up and down and through several areas and somehow ended up at Milo McIver State Park.  I did a bit of hiking, snapping photos and thinking.  Needed time to think.
Here are photos from my exploration.
Mt. Hood
I was surprised to see this little guy!
It was a good day to breath clean air, feel mossy trees, and see colorful trees.

  1. Rose you have captured nature at it's best. I am crushing over all your pictures. I had to smile at the caterpillar. I actually had a caterpillar like this when I was a kid and I remember how excited I was when it turned into a Monarch butterfly. That picture brought back some sweet memories for me. Happy Tuesday.

  7. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. And I laughed to see the little bird in the water. I think it is a water ouzel. Does anyone know for sure? Linda

  10. I think the Woolly Bear caterpillar grows into an Isabela Tiger Moth. The Monarch caterpillars are multi striped and not furry.
