Since my last post I have been slowed down in work on the house and in my photography. For part of it the weather caused delays. For the past week it has been illness. I started off with what the doctor called a viral infection, got medications to take, and ended up getting worse. On return visit to the doctor I was told that I now have THE FLU. I was given a new prescription and sent home. I had planned to go get the flu shot and the pneumonia shot but delayed it due to the start of winter term at the college where I work. Unfortunately the flu got me before I got the shot. I blame it on the wildly coughing and not covering her mouth lady in the bathroom the day before I started feeling ill!
Today the coughing has slowed down but my whole body aches so much and I have bad pain in legs and back which makes it hard to get comfortable. At the moment, my sore throat and ears seems to feel better as well, so may be on the mend. The medication is 2 pills a day for 5 days and have 2 more days of dosage to go. Wish me well! The doctor would not give me either shot yet and advised to do it in 2 weeks when my system is recovered. All of you who have not yet got the flu shot--GO!11 The pneumonia shot is for more higher risk people--me because I am 62 plus have damaged lungs from having double pneumonia when 19 which landed me in the hospital in oxygen tent. So if any of you are also at risk, get that shot as well. I do not want to see any of you go through what I have been through with this. It is awful!! Stay well.
Hope you feel better soon. I always get the flu shot and got the pneumonia shot this year as well, but I still came down with a bug that I am having hard time shaking. No,I'm not terribly sick, just feeling under the weather.

ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that you've got the flu, Rose. I hope you are beginning to feel better. If there is anything I can do to make you more comfortable, please let me know, or we can drop by some soup or whatever you can eat. I'll say a prayer for you as well.

ReplyDeleteoh dear, this sounds so dreadful. I hope you are feeling much better soon and it doesn't turn to something worse. Thanks for taking the time from your sick bed to visit my blog this week.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your flu attack, Rose, but I'm glad to hear the symptoms are easing. Best wishes for your recovery and get plenty of rest!
ReplyDeleteHi Rose...first of all, I do pray you get better soon. The flu is so debilitating! At least you have down town in the winter and not in the beauty of spring.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to comment on my blog. I do wish I still had the little ROSE picture. I sold it years ago at the shop. The little bird was a gift from a dear friend. Sorry that I could not help you out here. The ROSE picture was a piece of sheet music and I cut it out from the cover and found the little frame to put it in. You never know, it could resurface sometime at a garage sale!
Have a beautiful day and do take care!
hugs,
Becky
Oh gosh - sorry to hear this. Hoping you get better soon!
ReplyDeleteAt my house we've passed around a stomach bug to each other a couple of times. Nothing bad, but just enough to ruin your day.
