MOOSHOO WENT OVER THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

My sweet cat, Mooshoo, went over the Rainbow Bridge this morning. I had the honor of being her mommy for 18 years of her life. She was about 2 when I got her. She will be missed. Randy and I were together with her. She had been a sweet cat. She had become a cuddle kitty over the years. She loved rubbing on Randy. She loved looking out the window, playing with toys and sitting in sinks.

Good bye sweet Mooshoo!

Her Journey’s Just Begun

Don’t think of her as gone away –
her journey’s just begun,
life holds so many facets –
this earth is only one.

Just think of her as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.

Think how she must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.

And think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched
For nothing loved is ever lost –
And she was loved so much.

They're Only Ours for a Little While
by Nancy Hanson

We humans are prone to chase rainbows,
always wanting that pot of gold.
But the wisest of us remember the joy
of just a small creature to hold.
Allow yourself to accept their great gift,
and know what devotion is worth.
If you've been loved by a dog or cat,
you're the richest person on earth.
But their lives are lived in miniature-
bright sun to palest moon.
They bless our days with innocence,
and faithfulness that's stilled too soon.
These precious lives are fragile,
as fleeting as a baby's smile.
So give them all the love you have.
They're only ours for a little while.
And in the lonely moments
when you pause to wonder why,
hold close those brightest shooting stars
that burn so briefly in our sky.
But then look deeper in your heart
to know all love must intertwine,
and when the night sky seems the darkest,
you'll see their light forever shine.

  1. Mooshoo was such a cutie, and I like the two poems about our pets, it is so sad to lose one. She was a part of your life for 16 years, that was a blessing.

  4. Rose, what a beautiful kitty your Mooshoo was. Just looking into her beautiful eyes tells me what a loving companion she’s been through the years. The poems you quoted touched my heart since we lost our last kitty less than a year ago. Meanwhile, know you and Mooshoo will be in my prayers tonight. Love, Alice

  10. Rose I am so sorry, I know how very sad you must be as our beautiful Amber was put to sleep the day after her 18th birthday back in May during lockdown, we have her ashes and will take them to our next home with us. We weren't expecting another kitty so soon but Molly needed a home and somehow fills that cat shaped hole that Amber left. Thanksk for your comment - amazingly we have in common that my mother was a medium, she had a little 'shop front' in wales and was sort of famous in her funny old way - I think a lot of it was intuition and other peoples need to be 'read' but we did get a lot of things going bump in the night!
