VISITING YELLOWSTONE AND THE GRAND TETONS - PART ONE

Randy and I took a long trip from May 8th through May 20th, The longest for us so far.  I had been to Yellowstone twice before but this was a first for Randy.  We really enjoyed the sights and animals. The weather was good for us and only had one day with light rain! This post will have many photos and be in 3 parts!  Here we go!

We arrived at Gardiner, Montana where we stayed and entered Yellowstone. The sign with us! Also the famous arch at the North Entrance.

The many springs are colorful!
The buffalo were quite plentiful, even seeing babies with them at times.
They also caused road blocks at times and sure came close to the vehicle!
Many were still shedding their winter coats.

There are signs of the volcanic activity in the park everywhere you go.
Plenty of steaming vents and pools and bubbling mud.
We were so lucky to see 7 grizzlies and one black bear, though I did not get a photo of the black bear.
One of the grizzlies was mingling with the buffalo!  There was a mother with her two cubs, and 3 grizzlies eating a dead bison at a river.
We were able to see lots of female elk and some deer as well.
This will end the first part of my post about Yellowstone!
More to come!

  1. Thanks for capturing and sharing the beauty of this treasure. I’d never thought about the bears eating the buffalo.
