PART 3: ESCAPE TO LONG BEACH, WASHINGTON

We went to Fort Stevens State Park to see the Peter Iredale wreck. Peter Iredale was a four-masted steel ship that ran ashore October 25, 1906, on the Oregon coast en route to the Columbia River. She was abandoned on Clatsop Spit near Fort Stevens in Warrenton about four miles south of the Columbia River channel. Quite a bit of it is exposed now, more than has been before.

You can see the rear of the ship and ribs looking into the distance.
Randy at Peter Iredale.
Rose at Peter Iredale.
We also went to Carousel Mall in Seaside to do a little shopping.
Randy got a new hat! I love the new one and think it looks great on him! Better than the baseball caps.
I got to get salt water taffy!!! Mmmm! So many flavors!
It was such a great, fun trip.
I look forward to our next escape!!
